And then, to continue a very busy two days – one of my former students good friend (and a good friend of mine as well) Chen Xuan, invited me to an historic market. An open air / closed at times air market near Hero Mountain (sing xiong shan). It is a memorialized mountain honoring the Chinese past war dead. Not unlike our Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington. The market was very exciting. All sorts of stuff for sale. Things hand made out of the most unusual materials. Women’s hair combs from cow horns and bracelets from the stone or pit of a fruit. Like I’ve said before, the Chinese do not waste anything! Along with ceramics, carved wood items, jade, brass – you name it. Oh, yeah, and of course food!
