So, Friday, April 8th – my colleague from Shandong University of Arts, Professor Zhang Xin Wen and his wonderful wife, Shaodan, treated me to a trip to Daming Lake. It is the largest lake in Jinan City and a sort of Central Park of Jinan. We strolled around the edge of the lake and took many photos and visited a variety of temples and a small Chinese opera theater. We then had an absolutely amazing lunch at the restaurant located on the grounds of the ‘park’ and then had a short boat ride to one of the small islands in the lake. It was really wonderful to get away from work and enjoy for a while. The Chinese people are, with no doubt, some of the most hospitable and generous people anywhere! Truly incredible people!
