The first photo is of a couple of brilliant students working during model break. More than half of my students had never used colored pencils before – and well, you really wouldn’t have guessed that! I did some exemplars beforehand, demonstrating some different techniques using a variety of blending methods etc., and the results of those visuals were fine. I then set up in the studio to do a colored pencil drawing myself. Colored pencil not being my most inherent medium and very unpracticed; in the end, I beautifully bombed my attempt at this assignment! Yeah, I was distracted by going between drawing and then teaching and back and forth, but it’s really no excuse.
So, here is one of those instances where the students outshone their professor! And did a great job at that! All that really matters to me is that their end results were successful and they felt success and were satisfied. I know you will have a satisfied feeling when you see these student examples. Like I’ve said all along……
