12 August 2017 – This day trip to the Great Wall of China was indeed an undertaking. What one has to keep in mind is that, in China as we all know, is that there are many, many people. So, whenever we or anyone else decides to do something / anything, be prepared to stand in a line of people for a very extended period of time! We intended to but tickets to take a bus to the Great Wall. As we were trying to get to this line for tickets (a waiting time of over an hour) it was pitching with rain. Soaked shoes and feet, clothes and on and on…So, we decided the only way to pull this off is to take a very expensive taxi ride to and from the Great Wall. Well, worth the expense. We were able to dry out somewhat and have a little less stressful trip to the Great Wall – if you don’t count an utterly insane taxi driver! This guy was nuts! But considering the traffic to try and get to the sight – he was a blessing in disguise! The Great Wall of China is indeed GREAT!
