Right! Well, this is the Magical Mystery Tour Shuttle Bus I take from downtown Jinan out to the new, main campus out of town. The traffic in China is ridiculous! There are so many cars and bicycles and mopeds people park their vehicles anywhere! Not on the main thoroughfare streets, but most of the side / secondary streets, they park on the sidewalks as well as the street. So, most of the time, I need to dodge parked cars on the sidewalks or walk in the street and dodge moving cars! Wild stuff!
Oh yeah, traffic, congestion, and the trip to Shanyi (the pet / slang name of Shandong University of Arts), ready? An hour and twenty minutes commute to campus ONE WAY! Yeah, you can crunch the numbers. Very, very grueling! At least I really only have to be on campus Monday – Wednesday. I think 5 days a week and I’d go nuts!!
Anyway, posted here is the interior of the Magical Mystery Tour Shuttle Bus, a pic from the campus (only a very small portion obviously – there are over 8,000 students at this institution) and a photo of my studio classroom I’ll be teaching 20 students in. Approximately, 6 undergraduate students, 6 graduate students and 6 artists from in and around Jinan shi (city). Should be very, very interesting!
