17/11/2017 – Today is Friday, the 17th of November. My student Wang Lu and my interpreter / translator, Su Guosong took a trip over Taishan Mountain today. It is one of the five sacred mountains in China. I visited it last spring, when I visited the artist retreat. This time we visited a few open markets, an old village where a woman was making pancakes and a wonderful restaurant.
The first photos are of the open markets – people mostly sold vegetables and clothing and meat. Check out the photo with the pig carcass and scales just hanging out in the open, no refrigeration – just buy it up take it home, cook and eat – makes its own sauce!
