Picture #32 – So, Sunday morning – 28th of May, my train leaves at around 10:12. So, Mr. Liu picks me up at 8:30am because he wants to show me the family’s new home. Which we visit on the way to the Anqing Train Station. It is a beautiful townhouse. It is such privilege to see people so proud of their new found affluence and wealth; not wealth as we might know it, but wealth that a country so new and vibrant, that has never really known wealth or success or affluence of any kind, really. It makes me very happy that more people can be proud of the work and toil and sacrifices. It is very, very humbling. The accompanying photo is the living room – only one floor of 4 – 5 floors in their new home. I thank G-d for their success and new found dignity and pride.
