Wow! Truly, truly how quickly time passes! It has been a year ago last November that I made an entry to my blog. So much has happened since then, I am unsure as to where I should begin…
2019 went by so quickly! And much has been experienced, accomplished and enjoyed. But one thing that has saddened me is the fact that I miss China so very much! It will be 3 years this February that I first stepped foot into that magical ‘Middle Kingdom’. To reiterate…How Quickly Time Passes! It is my hope that I will return to China in July of this year, 2020. Things are in the works for me to teach a short 3 week workshop at the Shandong University of Architecture. We shall see…
In the meantime, I have been hard at work painting and producing images in a different medium ~ pastel. I have work in ‘toner’ painting (as it is called in China) / pastel painting in the past, but not to the extent of last year’s image production. But more on that later…
As for travel this past year, I was delighted to take a 3 and a half week trip to Europe. It was a ‘Shorter Strange Trip’ that began near the Arctic Circle and finished southern Spain and Portugal. I have completed some images from this trip and continue to do so. I will share some of this new work here in this blog, plus some travel photos I took along the way.
But first, I will close this entry with a rather new self portrait completed last year.The title, “Insignificant Self Portrait Pondering Giambaptista Tiepolo”. A rather large piece at 60″ x 48″ (152.4cm x 121.9cm). Enjoy!
